Manoj, an engineering student from Mumbai, met Soma at a gymkhana club and was
immediately smitten by her. Soma seemed to have this effect on all young men and
some of them not so young too! As she possessed the most eye catching figure any young woman could ever wish to have, a beautiful face, and a bright and
sparking personality to match. Each time he saw her at gymkhana his heart would
leap. He saw that she was the center of attention and admiration of other much better looking fellows, and he felt despair at not being able to get himself
into her life in a very substantial way. She said..... Hi!!!..... Hello!!!.... And exchanged
pleasantries with him, but he sensed that she wasn’t really interested in
him. To him this was a mental torture.
He had
fallen hard for Soma and his studies began to suffer as a consequence. He poured
his heart out to a Huna Technique Expert. He was advised that Huna ritual was the answer for him
and if he gave enough of it to his Higher Self , then the Higher Self would materialize his dream.
Enthusiastically
Manoj went home and began using the Huna ritual right away. Three months passed
and an extremely disillusioned Manoj returned to the Huna Expert office. He was upset that
nothing had happened in spite of faithfully performing the ritual every day, two to three times each day .He was feeling worse than ever, semester exams were
shortly due,and he had given up any thought of ever passing them because of how his studies had suffered as a result of his obsession with Soma. She was as
elusive as ever and he just couldn’t get her out of his head.
He had tried
all sorts of tactics for trying to secure a date with her but all to no
avail.Yet he knew that she was’t going steady with anyone in particular and
added to his acute frustration. Huna ritual he felt was a CON and USELESS. He said
it hadn’t got him anywhere and instead of helping him he was simply worse off than he was in the beginning .To make sure that he was charging himself correctly with Prana and that he was really making mystical contact with his higher Self, the Huna Expert asked him to do the
ritual in his office exactly as he does at home, describing the nature of his
visualization and thoughts as he is doing it. The Expert was satisfied that
Manoj was performing the ritual correctly and exactly as instructed. He had a
good mind, a mind that could make him a good living in a good profession, but
which was now in jeopardy because of his all consuming obsession with the
glamour girl from the Gymkhana. Manoj had been performing the ritual and clearly there had been no result whatsoever after a whole four months of patient trying.
This left only one conclusion .his Higher Self was actually protecting him from this girl. There had to be a reason --- a very good reason –why his Higher
Self wasn't responding.As explained previously, the higher Self Knows all, and
sees all and knows the future. It is also a guardian angel – who protract us from
impending calamity and even our own desires and wants. For some reasons Manoj 's Higher Self was vetoing his desire. Manoj in his cynicism and disillusionment , felt that he was being palmed off with a phoney excuse for
the failure of the Huna ritual to work for him. The Huna Expert urged him to see sense ,a tall task indeed,telling him that in due time his Higher Self would
reveal It’s reason for not helping him. Manoj left, looking like he had lost
one lack rupee and found a ten rupee note. The expert even felt that he hadn’t dared
ask for his fee for the consultation in view of his mood. But he insisted that
he let him know how he got on as this case aroused his curiosity as to why he
was getting no response.He knew intuitively that his Higher Self was Sparing
him from this girl,or perhaps preparing him for something better .The Higher
Self never lets one Down . It is our truest friend and has been with us since
the dawn of our existence millions of years ago. It is that part of us that
perpetually incarnates and puts us through those experiences, sometimes very cruel,
so vital for our spiritual growth and advancement. Right now Manoj’s Higher
Self was giving him a tough time, but only for his long term good as we shall
soon see.
An unexpected twist
One evening,
a few weeks later .Manoj was in such a state of despair and unable to stand the
four Wall of his room, which now seemed to him like a prison, he decided to get
out for a long walks by the sea in order to calm his fraught nerves.The sea,
like it has so many people, always had a calming effect on him. He walked for
miles thinking about things , how to resolve his dilemma and how , if ever he
could get Soma out of his system if he was not to have her. He was walking along
a particular lonely stretch of the shore when all of sudden he heard a faint
cry of Help . He was not sure whether he imagined it or not until he heard the
cry again a few seconds later. He strained his eyes and ears to figure out from where the cry were coming.He could see the vague outline of someone in the distance struggling with the waves, trying to keep on the surface. Without stopping to think, and
and being an excellent swimmer, he removed his cloths and immediately ran into
the water and swan to reach the person who was obviously in such great
distress. The victim of this calamity was a young woman who was clearly in a
most distraught condition. Had Manoj arrived a few minutes later she would
almost have certainly lost consciousness and drowned. He managed to get her
ashore where he left her to lay whilst he ran to call the coast guard. Later,
Manoj accompanied her in an ambulance to the hospital.
Next day he visited her in hospital where the girl expressed her deepest gratitude for his heroism in saving her. Leena, her name, explained that she in fact went into
the sea in order to commit suicide because her boyfriend, whom she had loved dearly,
had broken off their engagement. Whilst in the water she came to her senses realizing
that suicide didn’t solve anything and would only bring distress to her family
and friends. To die for a love that obviously couldn’t have meant very much to
her boyfriend , suddenly made no sense to her whatsoever.But by this time she was
in real difficulty and was in danger of dying whether she wanted to or
not. Feeling concern for her Manoj visited her at home where he was introduced
to her parents.
Manoj's concern for Leena, soon gave away for affection which in
turn led to love .His feelings were reciprocated .He had girlfriends before
but none seemed as right for him as Leena turned out to be. He and Leena had
many common interests and temperamentally they suited each other very well. Of
Course these most unexpected events were just the answer for dealing with Manoj’s
obsession with Soma.
The real
face of Soma
Interestingly,
not long after, Manoj met an ex-admirer of Soma on the street. Manoj had quit
going to the gymkhana since Leena came along ,so he had been out of touch with
the news there. It transpired that for all her charm and attractiveness she had
been for some time carrying a harmful venereal disease infection. Apparently she
had a tendency to promiscuity and managed to pick up the nasty infection during her
multiples sex adventures. A week or so later Manoj read in the local newspaper that
Soma had been apprehended by the police for high profile prostitution.
Manoj couldn't believe that such a girl as her attractive, vivacious and personable
could turn out to be such a selfish and careless. And to think that he had gone through, several
months of whining and pining for her.
Higher selves inter -communication
A few months
later a very different Manoj came to Expert’s office. This time he came with Leena,
a most charming and affable young lady, and it was a delight to behold the
obvious great affection that radiated between them .Manoj said that he felt
foolish about the way he had reacted when he last came, and realized now that
his Higher Self had indeed been protecting him, and saving Leena as a wonderful
gift in compensation for the agony over Soma.
Soon Manoj
and Leena got married. The story of Manoj and Leena is a classic illustration of the inter-communication of Higher Selves .Manoj's Higher Self did receive his
call for love when he faithfully performed the Huna ritual for those agonizing four
months. Had his Higher Self given him the wayward Glamour Girl Soma, he would
most certainly have deeply regretted it in the long run. Manoj was spiritually guided
by his Higher Self and was spared from the agony of his foolish mistakes.
